When is the best time to travel to Nepal?

The best time to visit Nepal is spring (March – May) and autumn (September – November). These periods are the most favorable in terms of weather conditions and tourist activities.

Spring (March – May)

  • Spring is most popular for trekking, particularly Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit.
  • The weather is generally stable and the temperatures pleasant.
  • Rhododendron flowers bloom, adding color to the landscape and creating an amazing nature experience.

Autumn (September – November)

  • Autumn is considered the best season for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal, thanks to clear skies and excellent visibility.
  • Temperatures are ideal, and the atmosphere is clean after the summer rains..
  • It is also the time of the big festivals, offering the chance to experience the local culture.

Although these two seasons are most popular, Nepal can also offer unique experiences in winter or summer, depending on your preferences. During your trek in the Himalayas in summer there is a possibility that you will have a little more difficulty compared to the rest of the seasons. Read our personal experience, here.
